2nd: Ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 catroot2.bak

After that, type the command ‘cd /d %windir%\system32’ and hit the Enter key to run the command.

Now, you have to re-register the BITS folders as well as the DLL files that are related with the Windows Update. To perform this, you need to type the command given below in the command prompt window. Then, press the Enter key after each command you enter.

12th: regsvr32.exe actxprxy.dll

Wait for a few seconds until the above process is running. Then, remove the Registry files that are filled with incorrect values. To remove those, first, you need to navigate to the Registry Editor and then go to the key ‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\COMPONENTS.’

Step 9:

Right-click on the option ‘COMPONENTS.’ Then, look at the right side of the window. Check that the followings are existed or not. If they exist, then you have to delete those.

1st: PendingXmlIdentifier

2nd: NextQueueEntryIndex

3rd: AdvancedInstallersNeedResolving

Now, you have to reset the Winsock. Winsock is a type of technical specification of Windows that describes how Windows network software should access the network services as well as  TCP/IP.
