• Search for the function that says “COM Surrogate”. Select the function and upon right-clicking, Select the option that says “End Task” from the list. 
• If you are unable to locate the “COM surrogate” file then look for a file namely dllhost.exe. 
• Upon finding, select it and end its task immediately. 

Method 7: Check Disk-Related Error 

To check if there are any errors in the disk drives, follow these:-

• Go to “This PC” from the Windows menu. Select “Local Disk Drive”.
• Go to the “Tools’ from the “Properties” by right-clicking on any of the hard disk drives.
• An icon of a security box that is named as “Check” will appear.
• Select that and then click on the “OK” button. 

Restart your computer after following all the methods and check if you are still encountering the problem.
