Update iTunes

Reboot The Device

If your iTunes is updated and there is no issue with your internet connection, then the issue could be with your device. In that case, you can resolve the error by rebooting your device. Hold the power button for ten seconds. When you see the power slider, slide it to power off your device. Wait for a few seconds before restarting it.

However, if you are unable to power off your device, then you have to force restart it. For restarting the device, press and hold down the power and home button simultaneously for 10 seconds or until the screen goes black and you see the Apple logo appearing. Release the buttons then and wait for your device to boot. In iPhone 7 and 7 plus, you would need to press the Volume Down and Power buttons together.

Use The IPSW File

In the beginning, we mentioned that iTunes error 9006 could occur when iTunes is unable to download the IPSW file from Apple’s server. You can bypass the error by manually downloading that file.

To resolve the error using this method, first, you must look for the right IPSW file for your device model. Now, connect your iOS device to your system, launch the iTunes. In the iTunes, go to the summary. There you will find the update and restore options.

In Mac, select the respective options while holding down the ALT and command keys. In Windows, pick the option while pressing the Shift key. This will take you to the file browser where you can select the recently downloaded IPSW file. And thus your iTunes will easily update or restore your iOS device smoothly.
